The book was shown at the Architecture & Design Museum, Los Angeles, in the exhibition Pushing the Press: The Typecraft Design Library from November 20, 2015 through February 28, 2016.  Also included in the exhibition was No Laughing Matter: Art and Humor in Southern California, designed by Dennis Reed for the Art Gallery at Los Angeles Valley College.

This book won the 2012 50 Best Books Award from the American Institute of Graphic Arts, the leading national association of graphic design. The book was selected from among 1200 books submitted from twelve nations.
